First Day of Spring
On 20th March this year we marked the first day of spring, gradually moving away from winter and happily stepping into spring! As we experience longer days and leave work in the light we know that spring has finally arrived!
With spring comes Easter, and last year research showed that 77% of adults planned to visit a pub or restaurant during the Easter Bank Holiday. This is great news for pubs up and down the country and with Easter being over the four-day weekend, there’s no better time to capitalise on people’s good moods as we head towards the summer.
As one of the biggest celebratory occasions of the year, Easter is a time for families so involving kids in pubs and restaurant activities is key. Many places engage in Easter egg hunts where they hide chocolate eggs around the beer garden and property, with pubs reporting this to be a well loved activity by the kids over Easter!
Bank Holiday Fun
In addition to Easter, spring also encapsulates two bank holidays; Early May Bank Holiday and Spring Bank Holiday which provide even more opportunity for the on-trade this spring. Time to step away from the cold nights and mulled drinks and into the beer gardens with fruity cocktails!
Brits love a good bank holiday drink and pubs know this. If the weather is good, customers will want to enjoy the sun and make the most of the beer garden over the Bank Holiday, so make sure your outdoor area is inviting and looks like somewhere people want to spend their days off work.
Almost Summer Nights
Why not jazz up your outdoor areas with some outdoor fairy lighting or summer style bunting. Outdoor furniture and patio heaters are also key in spring as it’s not quite warm enough late into the evenings without any heating.
Whatever your plans are this spring, make sure you take advantage of the warmer weather and the longer nights to increase those customer visits ready for summer!
